Paper types

One of the first choices you have to make, when having your image scanned, is the type of  paper that your wish to use for printing. We will give you guidance of course, but it can be a very personal choice and it’s an important one to make.

We use a range of papers, suitable for a variety of purposes. Whether your art is photographic,  based on original paintings or you like your prints to be used to produce art posters, we will provide the right paper for you and create stunning reproductions.

Paper choices can be very personal and there is no reason why you can’t print your treasured photo on a textured art paper or reproduce your painting or drawing on a smooth photographic paper. What’s more important is achieving the desired effect. It’s recommended that you visit our studio and physically look and feel the papers before you choose.

We also offer to test your image on different papers, at a minimal charge to cover our costs. What’s important to us is that you are happy with the end result.

Cowes Week Isle of Wight prints by Gemma

We can print up to 1118m (44 inches) wide, although some of the papers we use are only available in rolls of 1066mm (42 inches) wide. However, this is just the roll width and rolls are anywhere between 10 to 30 metres long, but if you wish extra large prints done, please be aware that the quality of the print depends on the available resolution. Printing at low resolution will make your image look pixelated.
